R-22 Equipment Phase Out

The 1990 Clean Air Act identified refrigerant R-22—the longtime industry standard refrigerant used in most air conditioning and heat pump systems—must be phased out. The plan now states: all manufacturers of air conditioning equipment must stop producing HCFC new equipment (equipment using R-22 refrigerant) January 1, 2010.

We'll Beat Their Lowest Price, Plus $100 off**A/C, furnaces or heat pumps installation only.

Are some air conditioners built better than others?   The compressor is the heart of a condensing unit. On a hot day, it works long and hard. The advanced Copeland® Scroll® Compressor are recognized by the industry as the leader in reliability, efficiency and quiet operation.

Other features to look for include louvered steel cabinets that protect the coils from damage and expensive repair bills.

What is a Split System?   The most common configuration, a split system is designed to work efficiently for cooling in any climate. Split systems have two main components, the outdoor section (e.g. air conditioner) and the indoor section (e.g. coil and furnace). These two components work together to provide top performance, maximum efficiency and comfort.

What is a Heat Pump?   Depending on the climate you live in a heat pump may be ideal for your family. Heat pumps work similar to a conventional air conditioner with one big exception; they also provide heat in the winter.

The heat pump is designed to work best in environments where the temperatures do not drop below freezing. If this describes your region then you can save 30 to 60% on energy usage during the winter months by switching to a heat pump.
